Your Ford Ranger PX1 should be thoroughly washed and cleaned. And make sure that the surface you are fitting the hoodscoop to is free from any grease, wax, polish or other contaminants.
Surface preparation is essential. So use a wax and grease remover on the bonnet according to the directions on the bottle of the wax and grease remover you are using.
You should also consider using light to medium sandpaper on the areas of the hood surface where the flange of the hoodscoop will contact the hood itself. This will provide a lot of additional adhesive strength.
There is a risk if the surface is not prepared correctly, that the hoodscoop will not adhere to the surface of the hood adequately and because of that will come off.
In addition to the double-sided automotive tape supplied it is recommended that Sikaflex or Polymax is used . For extra security and adhesion, and we recommend using pop-rivets or bolts.
Do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours after installation.
